Hi! My name is Karl and I love to perform! I've been singing opera since I was 11, went to college to be an opera singer, decided I wanted to do musical theater as well, graduated, got an HR job, and have been working as much as possible in the DFW Regional and Community theaters!
I love to sing- when I was 11, my grandmother took me to see Rigoletto at the Dallas opera. That night I decided I wanted to be an opera singer. Now, I'm lucky to be singing at the Dallas opera for my third season in a row!
I don't just sing opera though- if there's a musical being produced in DFW, chances are high that you'll see me at auditions. I've been cast or received offers from Theater Arlington, Watertower Theater, Lyric Stage, Stolen Shakespeare Guild, and Mainstage Irving. Some of my favorite roles include Fabrizio from Light in the Piazza, Rolf in The Sound of Music, and featured soloist in Cabaret. I also had the chance to perform in a non musical recently, playing Logan Leibowitz in Chicken and Biscuits. Gotta stay busy!
Another one of my favorite things to do is character work- the bigger the character, the more fun I have! Puppeteering, animation, and character work, I've done a bit of it all. I proudly represented SMU as their mascot Peruna the Pony for 3 years, getting to perform dance routines, interact with the crowd, play drums, and conduct the band! After college, I helped train new students in the role to keep the look and style of animation consistent. I got to take on a new character, "Ralphie" the centaur god in Hansel and Gretel with The Dallas Opera. Ralphie had twice as many legs as I'm used to and had electric eyes I got to control- you'd better believe I was giving people the side eye...
I am always available for private events, funerals, and weddings! My repertoire includes piano solos, jazz, Broadway classics and modern hits, American art songs, and Opera! Call today!
